Strange that it wont boot with nothing on the SD card. Your system files normally gets stored on the device unless they have moved the dalvic to the SD.

Ok, what did you do to remove the data from the SD card? Can you give me a model number for the device?

    Product Details

    Hi,

Thank you for your reply. I am not to sure If I can post a url of the product that I purchased so that you can see the full specs but let me try :

    http://www.dealextreme.com/p/8-touch...ortex-a8-70832

8" Touch Screen TFT LCD Google Android 2.2 Tablet PC w/ Wi-Fi/USB Host/HDMI/TF Slot (Cortex A

Basically It froze on the boot up screen (the android logo). I then thought I could just copy the SD card and re-install it. Little did I know that android is a whole different ballgame. so I have tried to create an bootable image from using a tool that partitioned the sd card and copied the files over to the card. I cant remember what the software was called. but that did not work. when I press the power button, it stays blue for 2 secconds and switches off.

    Hope this helps

When you partitioned the SD card, you must be very carefull where you place your files. Normally on a windows system, you will only see the FAT32 partition. So, very difficult doing it that way around!

Have you tried to see if you can get into your bootloader? Not sure how yours will get there, but try holding down power and volume down. When tablet starts, quicly press the volume up button... Lets see if you can get to this stage, then we can take it further!

    Hi,

Thank you for your patience. I really appreciate your help. And I am thanking you in advance because this is a tough cookie I have tried doing the whole bootloader thing before. I tried multiple sequenses that is recommended on the web but to no avail. What is strange is that it just stopped working when I formatted the sd card. Before that It still booted but just hanged. it is the first time i encounter a device that has no "bios" like firmware on it.

With regards to viewing the partitions, I have installed software to view non windows partitions and it did display the partitions. I am not to sure what size all the partitions must be since I assume it has ratios to work with regards to swapfile etc.

I am realy at a loss with this.
