Rooting Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 2.2 Mini

I am a noobie to rooting and am trying to learn how one goes about this with my Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini but need help.
I switch phone off, connect USB cable while holding back button and I get a green light.......but now what?
I also have z4root.1.3.0.apk if this is a better alternative but someone please tell me what to do.
My goal is to have ICS running on this phone and with that in mind have downloaded update-cm-7.1.0-X10Mini-signed.

The z4root.1.3.0.apk needs to be copied to your mobile or SD card. Then use a file manager like Astro and install the z4root.1.3.0.apk. Once that is done, it should have rooted the phone and installed clockwork. Now you can boot into your bootloader (should be installed by running te z4root.apk). Remember to do a nandroid backup first. Then proceed to wipe dalvik cashe and battery stats, factory settings etc... Now you can install your brand new shiny ICS Rom

    Hollar if you get stuck!

See if you can copy and paste into your systems folder with a file manager app. If you can, then you are rooted. Then look for an app on the play store called "Rom Manager". From Rom manager, install clockwork or Amon-Ra. Then from the app, boot into bootloader. From there you will see the options to Backup, whipe, etc...
